| Most wells will have one part called a screen. The screen is the part of the well that holds sand out and lets the water in. Screens come in different materials ( PVC, Brass, Steel, Stainless Steel , etc.) . We choose to use Johnson Screen Companies Stainless steel screens because of their durability, high flow rates and good quality control. | ||||||||||||

| The casing is the part of the well you see sticking out of the ground. This extends down into the ground so the water can flow up and out. PVC and steel are the most common used material for this. PVC is better in my mind do to the fact that does not rust or allow mineral build up as steel does. | ||||||||||||

Placement of a well is very important to its ability to supply water. Many well drillers do not believe in witching ( dowsing ) for water, preferring to believe that water is everywere under the ground. My question to them is: Then why do you charge for dry holes? While witching is not always right it has proved to be very effective at reducing the overall cost of the job. |
